"Arte in Cantiere": contemporary art redesigns the spaces of UpTown

“Arte in Cantiere” is an innovative project that for four weekends will transform the construction sites of Feel UpTown into an art atelier, where the creativity of Mr. Savethewall and Tomoko Nagao will come to life through live performances. A unique series of events that will highlight the transformative power of contemporary art in redefining the way we perceive and experience spaces.

Thanks to the collaboration between UpTown Milano and Deodato Arte Gallery, the Feel UpTown construction site will be transformed into a living canvas: as in a modern renaissance, Mr. Savethewall and Tomoko Nagao, leading artists on the contemporary scene, will breathe life into these environments, integrating art, architecture and design to create stimulating and inspiring atmospheres for those who will inhabit them.

In fact, the works created during these performances will later be installed in the common spaces and foyers of Feel UpTown buildings, enriching the living environments with their visual and emotional impact. Art, in this context, is no longer just a decorative element, but becomes an essential component that shapes the identity of the spaces in which we will live.

A project born from the common vision of UpTown Milano and Deodato Arte founded on the conviction that art can improve people's daily lives and that finds its concrete expression in UpTown with the project “UpTown place of art,” where art and beauty find space in every dimension of daily life: from the private sphere of one's home, to the common spaces and amenities of the UpTown buildings, to the park and the entire neighborhood.

The Artists

Tomoko Nagao is a Japanese artist known for her art that is both delicate and powerful, with which she manages to fuse Japanese and Western traditions. Her performances at UpTown will be a special opportunity to see the creation of unique works of art, made with her unique stencil art technique, in which respect for the environment and the celebration of local flora and fauna become the protagonists.

Mr.Savethewall, a street artist renowned for his commitment to environmental protection and urban decorum, will create unprecedented works using materials found at UpTown construction sites. With his art, Mr.Savethewall wants to promote a logic of sustainability, reuse and enhancement of everyday objects, transforming discarded elements into unique and surprising pieces. His performances will be a creative act that invites the public to reflect on the possibility of giving new life to objects and shared responsibility toward the urban environment.
