It was in 2001 that the Bearbrick, also known as Be@rbrick, entered the art market and became one of the most popular art toys on the market.
These art toys are produced by the Japanese company Medicom Toy, which, despite more than twenty years since the production of the first one, still retains the first and iconic shape.
Since 2001, however, there have been numerous collections and colourings of the teddy bear. The vast production of these timeless Art Toys and the different sizes in which they are made can create quite a few difficulties in understanding the dimensions of these teddy bears. From special editions to collectors' favourites, discover all the sizes in which you can find the Bearbricks you love!
Be@rbrick: The Dimensions of Art Toys
Medicom toys are created in different sizes. The most popular with collectors are the Bearbrick 1,000% and Bearbrick 400% sizes, but there are also smaller sizes.
The percentage value, which usually comes with the title of the work, indicates its height: 100% is equivalent to 7 cm, which goes up to the 70 cm of the 1,000%, but there are also sizes such as the 3.5 cm which is indicated with 50%.

Over the years, "new" sizes were produced to allow new models to be made, such as the Bearbrick 150% of 2012, called Bearbrick Light with a height of 10.5 cm and a key ring on the bear's head.
The Bearbrick 200% size, on the other hand, was only made for the production of a Bearbrick Chogokin that gave rise to a one-off of the Mazinga Z robot.
The standard Bearbrick size is 7 cm, the Bearbrick 100%. However, even this specimen has undergone some variations:
- A model in which the nine classic parts of the Kubrick design can be separated;
- A 100% "unbreakable", launched from the Series 14 in 2007;
- A new Bearbrick launched in 2008 entitled "BB Bearbrick", for children, in which all nine parts cannot be separated.
These Art Toys, in both small and large sizes, have helped revolutionise the concept of action figures, turning these simple toy models into collector's items and street-culture icons.
