Street artist Mr. Brainwash (aka Thierry Guetta) comes to Beverly Hills and amazes with the creation of an Art Museum entirely dedicated to his art and personal poetics.
Starting on December 18, it will be possible to visit the exclusive museum full of immersive and multimedia installations and explore the artist's production and evolution to enter the energetic and hopeful world of Thierry Guetta.
The museum is situated at the Paley Center for Media, also known as the Museum of Television and Radio. The venue, called a true work of art, was designed by architect Richard Meier and opened in 1996. Later, however, the Los Angeles location closed but in 2017 it was acquired by Mr. Brainwash himself to transform it into a vibrant display of not only his work but also other artists he admires.
"Beverly Hills, California. The community of communities. Dreamers wished to become part of it.” - Mr. Brainwash
Life is Beautiful - Mr. Brainwash's motto becomes a museum
Mr. Brainwash is known and appreciated by the general public precisely for the joy, bright colors and light-heartedness of his artwork. This positive vision is embodied by the artist in his personal motto, Life is Beautiful, which today will come to life in this unique interactive "playground" suitable for all ages and reminding anyone who visits the artist's personal mantra that Life is Beautiful.
On the side of the museum is a larger-than-life image of a Mona Lisa wearing a mask, a welcome artwork intended to remind viewers that life is beautiful even in unpredictable moments. The Mr. Brainwash Art Museum represents a beacon of hope and positivity, signifying how things can still thrive despite uncertainty.
Inside the museum, among the many installations, it will be possible to visit Van Gogh's room. In fact, Mr. Brainwash decided to take one of the Dutch artist's best known and most appreciated paintings, namely The Bedroom, and transform it into a real room where the viewer will be able to literally enter the painting.
The creation of this unique museum comes at the close of a decade of solo exhibitions around the world, including Miami, Tokyo and Seoul, and collaborations with personalities such as Madonna and Pope Francis.
This must-see exhibition explores the artist's production and evolution since Thierry Guetta rose to prominence more than a decade ago through the award-winning documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop, which chronicled his development as an artist and the production of his first exhibition, 2008's Life Is Beautiful held in Los Angeles.
Mr. Brainwash's view of the world
