Trait-Portrait: A Journey into the Art of Portrait at the Domaine de Clémarais

Aubange, Belgium-From November 30 to December 15, 2024, the La Harpaille room at the Domaine de Clémarais welcomes Trait-Portrait, an extraordinary group exhibition dedicated to the art of portraiture. This exhibition brings together works by talented artists, including Mr. Savethewall, Maxime Frairot, Marie-Christine Sosson, Jean Janssis, and many others, to explore the infinite facets and techniques of contemporary portraiture.

An Event Dedicated to the Diversity of Portrait.

Trait-Portrait offers visitors aunique opportunity to discover faces expressed in multiple forms: some from the front, in profile or three-quarter view; others immortalized through drawing, painting, sculpture, photography or weaving. Each portrait on display is unique and represents different qualities and characteristics, from sweet and serene faces to proud and determined ones. Visitors will be able to admire a wide range of emotions and personalities, from smiles to arrogance, from modesty to assertiveness.

Exhibition Schedule.

  • Vernissage: Friday, Nov. 29 from 7 p.m.-an unmissable opportunity to preview the exhibition and have a live portrait taken by Willy Lambert in the Rotunda.
  • Conference on the Art of Portraiture: On Saturday, Nov. 30 at 8 p.m., Emmanuel Grégoire will give a lecture on the historical evolution of the photographic portrait.
  • Guided Tours: On Monday, December 2, Emmanuel Grégoire will take visitors on guided tours at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
  • Screening of Alberto Giacometti, The Final Portrait: On Thursday, Dec. 5, at 8 p.m., there will be a screening of Stanley Tucci's film at the Athus Cultural Center.
  • Special Nocturne: Friday, Dec. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m., with evening opening for an intimate and atmospheric atmosphere.
  • Dévernissage in music: Sunday, December 15 at 7:00 pm, the closing of the exhibition will be accompanied by a musical performance by Loïc Certonfante and François Lavandier.
