On Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, the prestigious Deodato Arte Gallery in the heart of Milan (at 1 Nerino Street) will host “Vivere ad Arte”, an evening that will preview the presentation of works born from “Lifeshot”, a unique art project conceived by Mr. Savethewall, and the amazing creations made during “Art in the Yard,” with the extraordinary participation of Mr. Savethewall and the talented Tomoko Nagao. The evening will begin at 6:30 pm.
“Vivere ad Arte” is the project UpTown wanted to authentically collect the experiences of those who have chosen this extraordinary neighborhood, reflecting on the deeper meaning of living: a journey through the art of living, celebrating the diversity, complexity, uniqueness and beauty of each person's life through the Lifeshot. In this art project, Mr. Savethewall creates an intimate and personal set, deeply connecting with each protagonist. Through a journey without time and space, people are guided to the rediscovery of themselves, in a photographic translation made in collaboration with photographer Emanuele Scilleri and video operator Piergiorgio Perretta.
The arte in cantiere project
"Arte in Cantiere" transformed the construction sites of the Feel UpTown residence for four weekends into an art atelier, where the creativity of Mr. Savethewall and Tomoko Nagao came to life through live performances. The works created during these performances will be exhibited for the first time on January 23 and then installed in the common spaces and atriums of Feel UpTown buildings, where art becomes an essential component that shapes the identity of living spaces, enriching them with its own visual and emotional impact, recovering an ancient Milanese tradition.
With the extraordinary participation of Mr. Savethewall and the talented Tomoko Nagao, the evening will be an immersion in the transformative power of contemporary art and its ability to give voice to the stories that make each person and each community unique.
Participants will discover how art can elevate everyday spaces to places of inspiration and connection, witnessing the success of a project that has made UpTown Milan not only a cutting-edge neighborhood, but an authentic open-air museum, where every corner tells a story and every common space becomes a place to meet and share.
The event will celebrate the results of the first year of the “UpTown Luogo d'Arte” project, a pioneering initiative that has redefined the dialogue between art, architecture and community in the UpTown Milan residential neighborhood.
“UpTown Place of Art perfectly represents our vision of sustainable and inclusive urban development,” says Attilio Di Cunto, CEO of EuroMilano.
“In this first year, we have demonstrated how contemporary art can be a powerful tool for social aggregation and the enhancement of urban spaces. The results we will present on January 23 are tangible evidence of how beauty and creativity can transform not only environments, but also the quality of life of the people who inhabit them.”
“The partnership with UpTown Milan has opened new horizons in the way we think about and experience contemporary art. This project has shown that art can leave the galleries and become an integral part of people's daily lives. The enthusiastic response from the community confirms that we are charting the right path toward a future in which art is truly accessible to all, enriching every aspect of urban life.” - Deodato Salafia
