THE ARTWORK
The sculpture by Arnaud Nazare-Aga, Sumo Welcome Ikashi is a limited edition of 500 pieces in size XS.
The sculptures by Arnaud Nazare-Aga have the purpose to bring happiness. The subjects, the shapes and the materials are chosen in order to create harmony between the public and the artwork. The Sumo collection, one of the most appreciated by the artist, is composed by three different models depending on the position of the sumo fighters. In this case the Sumo is in the Welcome position, which is the one taken at the beginning of the fight to welcome the competitor. The work is made of marble powder and resin, it is entirely hand-painted and externally lacquered. It's a limited edition, signed and numbered in original by the artist.
The XS size, measuring 16x13x9,5 cm, is ideal for enhancing any small space. Despite their small dimension, these Sumo pieces convey all the strength of their size. The work is numbered, and hand signed by the artist.

Arnaud Nazare-Aga was born in 1965 in Paris in a Tibetan Buddhist community in Burgundy. His origins, characterised by a strong religious attachment, led him to realise several projects to decorate Buddhist temples in France, such as the Temple of a Thousand Buddhas in Autun. His skills and talent as a carpenter led him to create three monumental Buddha sculptures inside temples with the collaboration of Buthan artists.
After numerous professional experiences in both Europe and Asia, Arnaud Nazare-Aga moved to Bangkok, where he founded his studio, PAJ'Art.
Several international fairs and galleries, both in Asia and Europe, have hosted Arnaud Nazare-Aga'sartworks. Among the most important are Art Stage Singapore, AAF Milan (Affordable Art Fair) and the Venice Art Biennale, where he presented a Sumo Totem more than 4 metres high, which is now located in Brescia.
One of his most important artistic projects concerns works dedicated to the Little Prince. The artist and designer, Arnaud, has in fact decided to make his art accessible to the visually impaired. The works, inspired by the well-known French literary work full of poetic and philosophical meaning, are able to be "seen" through the sense of touch, enabling visually impaired people to enter the art world.
The project was received with great success by the public and were exhibited in Singapore as part of a French festival called Voilah! Subsequently, a further exhibition was held in Hong Kong, where more than 120,000 visitors viewed the show.
In his artistic production, the artist treats sculptures of various sizes, with sinuous lines and bright colours. These softly shaped, smooth and colourful sculptures are meant to bring joy and elevate the mood of all who observe them.
Among the artist's various collaborations, one of the best known is certainly that with his ex-wife Adeline. The artists Arnaud and Adeline Nazare-Aga have collaborated on numerous works under the name Artheline. Among the various works in the collection that began in 2012, the two artists created Sumo, Hippop'Art, Whale Pop and Goril'Pop sculptures with the intention of spreading a kind of childlike joy in the hearts of viewers due to the bright and vivid colours typical of their sculptures. In 2015, the Hippop'Artexhibition was held at the Fullerton Heritage Precinct in Singapore, where over 40 hippos occupied the hotel's gardens, lobby and outdoor docks.
Another important collaboration of artist Arnaud is with Chirtsak Phaijitsattaya, also known as iClim. Joining the PAJ Art Studio in 2011, iClim has since collaborated with French visual artist Arnaud Nazare-Aga to create painted resin sculptures, as head sculptor and art project supervisor.
