THE ARTWORK
Soul of the Wild is a silkscreen print on paper made in 2024 by the Orticanoodles, a work that captures the essence of the natural world through a fragmented and vibrant representation of a tiger face. The composition unfolds in a series of vertical sections that subdivide the image, giving the viewer a fragmented and intense view of the subject, a game of unraveling that amplifies the majestic and wild character of the animal.
The dominant colors are red, orange and black, which alternate with accents of white and yellow to recreate the tiger's characteristic coat. The stripes are overlaid with stylized flowers and vegetation, recalling the symbiosis between the predator and its natural habitat. The tiger's eyes, rendered with hypnotic precision, are central and seem to emerge with intensity, creating a direct contact with the viewer.
With Soul of the Wild, Orticanoodles explores the theme of wilderness and primordial energy through their signature style: the use of stark color blocks, inspired by street art and the pop world. The work is a tribute to the power of nature and the symbolic strength of the tiger, expressing, at the same time, the idea of untamable beauty and vulnerability, a theme dear to the artistic duo who fuse urban language with iconic motifs of fauna and flora.
The artists describe the work as.
It depicts the tiger as the embodiment of the wild and pure essence of nature.

Orticanoodles is an art collective born in the early 2000s in Milan, created by Wally and Alita, and in a short time became a reference point for Italian street art. The collective has evolved from duo to factory, welcoming numerous collaborators and redefining the role of urban art through an open and constantly changing approach. Known for their pioneering skills in the use of stencil , the Orticanoodles have been able to combine innovative techniques and apop aesthetic to bring art to the streets, resulting in iconic murals that address relevant issues, such associal inclusion, the fragmentation of modern society and the enhancement of urban life.
One of the collective's most ambitious projects is OrMe - Ortica Memoria, an initiative that has seen the artistic redevelopment of Milan's Ortica neighborhood , transforming it into a veritable open-air museum. In this context, the Orticanoodles represented historical and symbolic figures of Italian culture, creating connections between the past and the present, and bringing attention back to the history andidentity of the place. This approach not only beautifies the urban environment, but also promotes the active participation of the local community, involving residents and raising their awareness of issues of social and cultural relevance.
Their influence extends far beyond the boundaries of street art through collaborations with foundations, schools, brands, and museums. Orticanoodles also brings their art to institutional and commercial settings, while maintaining a strong artistic and social identity. In fairs and galleries, the collective exhibits works that solidify their role in the contemporary scene and broaden access to their creative vision. Through social media, Orticanoodles reaches a large and diverse audience, continuing to inspire new generations and spread a message that combines artistic expression and social engagement.
