MIAZ BROTHERS – THE GOAL – UNIQUE ARTWORK

The unique piece on canvas by the Miaz Brothers The Goal depicts a female nude in a reclining position and is inspired by a famous painting by Gustave Courbet, a XIX century French painter.

The Italian duo often takes the works of the Old Masters and revisits them with its own unique style, giving them an air of mystery and opening up the possibility of new interpretations and suggestions.

Using airbrush and acrylic paint, the Miaz Brothers create enigmatic and evocative images with blurred contoursthat challenge our perception. Their paintings provoke different stimuli and associations in each viewer, allowing for endless interpretations without ever letting themselves be completely defined.

The Goal was created in 2020 using acrylic paint on a canvas measuring 160,5 x 128,5 cm. The work is signed on the back.

THE MIAZ BROTHERS: BIOGRAPHY

Roberto and Renato - the Miaz Brothers - were born in Monza, near Milan, in 1965 and 1968 respectively. Since they were children, they have shared a great curiosity and desire to create which, as they grew up, evolved into a process of shared artistic creation.

They attended the European Institute of Design, but they did not just learn about art, they were also interested in science, philosophy, and technology. They chose to embark on an unconventional path that led them to live and travel all over the world, from New York to Paris, from South America to Asia.

They realised their first installations in unusual spaces, mainly in clubs such as "Insomnia" in Pisa and "Cocoricò" in Riccione. In these places, experimental music resonated with their creations, which interacted with a wide audience in a direct and spontaneous way.

In 1996 they had their first gallery exhibitions in Milan and in 2011 they were awarded the prestigious Arte Laguna 5th Prize for the Painting section; shortly afterwards they exhibited at the Arsenale in Venice and their career took off. They are currently represented by major art galleries and participate in international fairs and events.

THE MIAZ BROTHERS’ ART

The Miaz Brothers’ art is the result of a long process of aesthetic research. They experimented with a variety of techniques, including photography and video, before focusing on painting. They chose to focus on this activity out of a desire to bring new ideas to a field with a long history.

With their original technique they renewed the approach to portraiture, working with airbrush and acrylics to create works with blurred contours that are enigmatic and suggestive. Their out-of-focus figures engage the viewer, challenge their perception, and never allow themselves to be completely defined.

MIAZ BROTHERS: COLLABORATIONS

Throughout their career, the Miaz Brothers have collaborated with major brands such as Adidas, Swatch, Piaggio, Nike, Elite, Diesel, Puma, Kenzo and many others, with whom they have designed interventions aimed at raising artistic awareness.

In 2017 they designed the cover for the New York Times Magazine and in 2021 the cover for Italian singer Achille Lauro's latest album "LAURO - Achille Idol Superstar”.

The artwork is delicate and requires a custom-made wooden box to protect it during transportation. Delivery to EU countries takes 1 to 3 weeks from the time of order.

The shipping cost is calculated before payment. The cost of the box and packaging is included in the shipping cost.

TAX

if you LIVE IN EU

If you live in Europe (CEE) the price we show you already includes taxes. The works are taxed either with VAT exposed (22%) or VAT with the margin, if you are a private person you do not change anything, if you are a company: in In the first case, you will recover the VAT, in the second, no. When you put the works in the cart you will be separated from the vat exposed.

If you DON'T LIVE IN EU and you want an EXTRA EU shipping

Many works (not all) have an exposed VAT of 22% included in the price, this vat will be spun off! Obviously you will pay the VAT to your destination country, if due. For example if you live in Switzerland you save 22% but you will have to pay 8.1% to your customs, if you live in Hong Kong you will save 22% and you will not have to pay anything to your customs (lucky you).

PAYMENT

If you complete the purchase on the site you can use a credit card, or you can make a bank transfer. Payment in cash is accepted up to 5,000 euros physically in one of our stores. Payments in BitCoin or cryptocurrencies are NOT accepted.
