Ugo Nespolo - Quirky

Quirky is a limited edition of 100 pieces artwork done by Italian artist Ugo Nespolo. It is hand-signed and numbered by the artist.

The silkscreen print depicts the Mona Lisa, a work of art from the early 16th century by Leonardo da Vinci. The juxtaposition of classicism to which Nespolo refers, with the addition of colours and shapes typical of Pop Art and Futurism, make the image of the Mona Lisa bizarre and eccentric, as suggested by the title of the work.

Quirky by Ugo Nespolo measures 40x40 cm. Together with the works Stellare, The tourist and Explain it to me, the silkscreen print is part of the Quattro Icone portfolio.

The Italian painter Ugo Nespolo

Born in Biella, Italy, Ugo Nespolo is an Italian artist, film maker and writer. His activity as an artist began in the 1960s, when, influenced by the pop trends that exploded in America at the same time, he began creating works that seek ironic and eclectic content.

Initially, his works recalled and explored the aspirations that the artists of the Historic Avant-garde, Futurism and Dadaism movements had combined with the increasingly emerging Pop Art.

Nespolo's art is appreciated and recognised all over the world, to the extent that it has been exhibited in the most important museums such as the Tate Modern in London, the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. Wanting to bring art into everyday life, Nespolo also counts among his collaborations those with the Italian National Carabinieri Corps, for which he designed the historic calendar, and with Swatch, to celebrate the brand's 35th anniversary.

TAX

if you LIVE IN EU

If you live in Europe (CEE) the price we show you already includes taxes. The works are taxed either with VAT exposed (22%) or VAT with the margin, if you are a private person you do not change anything, if you are a company: in In the first case, you will recover the VAT, in the second, no. When you put the works in the cart you will be separated from the vat exposed.

If you DON'T LIVE IN EU and you want an EXTRA EU shipping

Many works (not all) have an exposed VAT of 22% included in the price, this vat will be spun off! Obviously you will pay the VAT to your destination country, if due. For example if you live in Switzerland you save 22% but you will have to pay 8.1% to your customs, if you live in Hong Kong you will save 22% and you will not have to pay anything to your customs (lucky you).

PAYMENT

If you complete the purchase on the site you can use a credit card, or you can make a bank transfer. Payment in cash is accepted up to 5,000 euros physically in one of our stores. Payments in BitCoin or cryptocurrencies are NOT accepted.
